This is a pretty good school for new truckers because it is certified by the Professional Truck Drivers Institute. This means they must give students 44 hours of driving time, have qualified instructors, and meet other high guidelines. They offer 14 days classroom training, plus one to three weeks on-the-job training. If you need to finance the $4,500 cost of tuition, they offer financial assistance, including $200 reimbursement each month but only if you live in an eligible area. However, be aware that you end up paying for the training out of your paycheck for the required 18 month contract. There doesn’t seem to be as many problems with tuition collections and other problems that other driving schools have. They do offer lodging and transportation during training, and you don’t have to pay the school any initial costs (except for a signed contract and your DOT physical cost). Despite their beneficial training program, most truckers complain about the low pay, which is $0.26 per mile to start. This professional school is good if you want to get decent training and move onto another company, yet only if you can handle 1-1/2 years of low pay.
